U.S. Army World Class Athletes visit metro high schools

APRIL 2015 – The United States Army has nearly 200 different jobs, many in career paths you might not ordinarily associate with military service. Sgt. Max Nowry of Illinois is in human resources.  Spc. Eric Nye of California drives a bulldozer as a Horizontal Construction Engineer. Two servicemen assigned to two typical jobs.

However, these two men are more often busy training to represent the Army on a wrestling mat.  Nowry and Nye are members of the World Class Athletes Program

Solutions for a better, more fluid golf swing

APRIL 2015 – Although I played pro baseball for 16 seasons, including for the Kansas City Royals, my real love in high school and college was golf. I sometimes wonder what might have happened if my life had gravitated towards playing competitive golf instead of baseball.

I was drawn more to golf than baseball because it was more of an individual performance rather than a team performance.

APRIL 2015 – Do you experience muscle tightness during golf?  Does it take you more than 15 minutes to warmup before play or do you tighten up on the back nine?  Has your game flat-lined despite working with your golf pro?  Many golfers struggle with the sensation of tightness despite their golf stretching routine.

Let me start by saying, not all tightness is created equal and this issue is quite complex.
