Out on a twig: Royals will win AL Central Division

Royals-2015-Predictions

APRIL 2015 – Finally, five months after finishing 90-feet short the 2015 MLB season is upon us.

Of course I am referencing Alex Gordon standing on third base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth of World Series Game 7 in the Kansas City Royals’ 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants.

Billy Butler, James Shields, Nori Aoki and Aaron Crow are gone from that 2014 American League championship club.

New arrivals are Kendrys Morales, Edinson Volquez and Alex Rios. Most Royals fans have been eagerly waiting the upcoming season as if it was Christmas all over again

Royals line up fairly set with Spring Training starting

FEBRUARY 2015 – When the pitchers and catchers report Feb. 19 at Surprise, Arizona, expect little to no competition for jobs in the Kansas City Royals’ spring training.

Barring any injury, this roster has few vacancies outside of a backup infielder and a bullpen spot.

“It’s the mark of a good team,” manager Ned Yost said at the Royals’ FanFest. “There won’t be much competition. We’re pretty set.

Additions Rios, Morales are key to Royals’ offense

JANUARY 2015 – Alex Rios and Kendrys Morales are coming off a gloomy season, but both have feasible reasons on why 2014 was a down year.

The Kansas City Royals are counting both free agent signees having a bounce back season. Rios, who turns 34 in February, was signed for $11 million for one season with a mutual option for 2016. Morales signed a two-year contract for $17 million. He will pocket $6.5 million in 2016 and $9 million in 2016 with a $1.5 million buyout for an $11 million option for 2017. Plus, he could earn another $750,000 each year on bonuses based on plate appearances.
