Does Chiefs’ DL Bennie Logan have the right stuff?

One of the most important Kansas City Chiefs acquisitions of the off-season was signing Bennie Logan. The loss of Dontari Poe via free agency left a big hole to fill in the center of the defensive line. When the Chiefs gave Logan $8 million on a one-year deal, they hoped they had solved that problem.

Chris Jones is an entertainer. When he’s not cracking heads on the gridiron, he’s cracking jokes on the sidelines.

Jones, a 6-6, 308-pound defensive lineman, always seems have a smile on his face.

“As long as I’m waking up, I’m happy,” he said. “You can find some reason to be happy. It’s about loving life, loving what you do and embracing all of it.”

APRIL 2017 – Unlike a year ago, the KC Chiefs entered the free agent period with far fewer question marks.

The biggest was resolved in March when All-Pro safety Eric Berry was inked to a deal which will likely make him a Chief for life.

The potential loss of Berry weighed heavily on the front office as well as the players.

MARCH 2017 – Eric Berry will be back, but Jamaal Charles will not be as the Kansas City Chiefs made a couple of significant moves entering March.

Berry agreed to a six-year $78 million contract making him the highest paid safety in NFL history.

“Keeping Eric Berry in a Chiefs uniform long-term has been a significant goal of ours,” Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said. “He’s a special football player and an incredible person. We’re thrilled we were able to get this deal done.”

Coach Andy Reid called Berry “one of the backbones of our defense and a team leader.”
