Heartland Soccer Association Awards Gala set for February

Heartland Soccer Association will cap off another successful year with an awards banquet on February 3 at the Museum at Prairie Fire.

The Second Annual Awards Gala will start at 7 p.m. with more than 300 people expected to attend.

Last year’s banquet was a rousing success and tickets are expected to sell quickly for this year’s event.

“People were really honored (last year),” said Heartland Soccer Special Events Manager Wendy Reyes. “Everybody was excited to get together outside of soccer games. We expected 70 people and we ended up selling out.”

Heartland Soccer brings families together with fashion show October 29

Get ready to rock the runway with Heartland Soccer Association’s fashion show.

A pair of shows on Sunday, October 29, at the Ritz Charles event space in Overland Park will feature local soccer folks strutting their stuff in fashions from some of the area’s best retailers.

The event is designed to bring together people from the Kansas City soccer community in a non-traditional, off-the-field gathering.

When people hear the names of some of the most popular brands, they have an intuitive idea of exactly what those brands represent. They don’t have to be told that Nike sells shoes, or Starbucks coffee. In the Kansas City area, the same can be said of the Heartland Soccer Association and youth soccer.

The two have become virtually synonymous in the region, with more than 30,000 girls and boys ranging in age from 8 to 19 in recreational and premier soccer playing league and tournament games.

The country’s largest youth soccer organization wasn’t built overnight. Heartland Soccer Association – home to more than 30,000 recreational and competitive soccer players through its leagues and tournaments – traces its roots to 1977 with the formation of the Johnson County Soccer League.

HappyFeet makes happy soccer kids in Kansas City


MARCH 2016 – Children often begin playing soccer at a very early age, and organizations like HappyFeet are instrumental in teaching the sport to preschoolers.

HappyFeet and Mini-Kickers began offering soccer programs to 3 to 5-year olds in 1988 in the Kansas City area.
