Daniel Sorensen soars for Chiefs defense. Safety finds success from raw talent and hard work.

When a recent photo of Kansas City Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen going airborne over a blocker to harass Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz went viral, the only thing missing was Sorensen’s Superman cape.

“I love it,” Chiefs All-Pro linebacker Justin Houston said.  “(He’s) putting it out there. That’s something that we ask of each other, everything that’s in your heart, we hope that you put it out there on the line every game, every snap, every play.

Season Predictions: Slight chance the Chiefs will make it to AFC Championship Game

Well, football season is rapidly coming upon us. It’s funny how it seems to creep up on us when the Kansas City Royals are competing towards the goal of making the post-season. With that being said, we all know what time it is – BLT time. Yes, my annual football branches, limbs and twigs predictions for the KC Chiefs.

I didn’t do too bad last year, but 2017 may be a bit more difficult to break down the season for our Chiefs – but here it goes:

BRANCHES: Solid predictions that I feel have a better than 75 percent chance.

1. No Chiefs running back will amass more than 1,000 yards in 2017. Spencer Ware accumulated 921 yards last year, but he will out for the season after a knee injury in the third exhibition game. Rookie Kareem Hunt will start in Ware’s absence. Charcandrick West will get his share of carries. Coach Andy Reid may go with the hot hand during the season or parcel out the carries to several backs, but the loss of Ware hurts. Look for KC to run for more than 1,500 yards this year without a 1,000-yard rusher unless Hunt emerges as a real threat.

Justin Houston: He has ‘No Problem’ – healthy Chiefs linebacker says he’s going to be better

Here’s a scary thought, especially for Kansas City Chiefs opposing quarterbacks in 2017: Justin Houston thinks he’ll be better this season than he was in 2014.

How good is that? Let’s refresh your memory. Houston finished the 2014 season with 22 sacks, one-half sack off the NFL record set by Michael Strahan of the New York Giants in2001.

Justin Houston says he’s more than ready to return to old form.

Are the Chiefs looking for a new identity and changes made matter in the 2017 season?

Brett Veach Chiefs

With all the changes and questions heading into the season, are the Chiefs looking for a new identity or brand and will it matter this year?

It’s pretty common for any sports organization to look for another path or brand that ultimately leads to success. The 2017 New York Yankees are winning with home-grown players, where in years past, a George Steinbrenner owned team bought their championships.

Some teams move from one city to another and others simply change uniforms or logos. Teams look to acquiring players to replace the ones they can’t afford or who just didn’t get the job done. Any way you look at it, change is inevitable in pro sports, but does it equate to future success or a repeat of the past?

This leads me to where the Kansas City Chiefs are heading entering the NFL season.

KC Chiefs look to fill Poe’s big shoes and fill other spots in 2017 NFL Draft

APRIL 2017 – Unlike a year ago, the KC Chiefs entered the free agent period with far fewer question marks.

The biggest was resolved in March when All-Pro safety Eric Berry was inked to a deal which will likely make him a Chief for life.

The potential loss of Berry weighed heavily on the front office as well as the players.

“Eric Berry is the heart and soul of this defense,”

Breaking the KC Chiefs “secret code”

Chiefs Secrets

APRIL 2016 – Believe it or not, strategy at 1 Arrowhead Drive is not a matter of national security, contrary to the way and speed in which information is leaked by the Kansas City Chiefs. The team hides behind the veil of not wanting to give away the recipe to the “secret sauce” to the opposition.

Sometimes you have to think they just like keeping secrets.
