Closing the deal: K-State’s Jesse Ertz will succeed this season

There’s a sales method used when trying to persuade a potential client to purchase an item called the “Ben Franklin Close.” You place all the reasons for buying the product on one side and all the reasons for not buying it on the other side. If head coach Bill Snyder wants to use the Ben Franklin formula for evaluating whether quarterback Jesse Ertz will have a great senior season, the plusses far outweigh the minuses.

As we continue looking at some of the best NBA players to come from our local schools, we now look at the best to come from the Little Apple. While Kansas State hasn’t had a continuously consistent basketball program, they still have found success, making 29 NCAA Tournaments, 4 Final Fours, and have been named 44th on the Associated Press’s All-Time Poll. Through the years the Wildcats have had some talented players that had great NBA careers, including a hall-of-famer. And as we get closer to the NBA Draft, we look at the best NBA players from Kansas State, based on their NBA success.

MARCH 2017 – The Associated Press just released their All-Time Top 100 poll and, good news for everyone, the Jayhawks, Tigers and Wildcats all cracked into the top half of the list!

Ever since January of 1949, the AP releases their poll of the top teams of the country each week, having different sized polls over the years, from 20 to 10 to the current 25. Being on the poll is a sought-after spot to show the rest of the country you are one of the best in the country and where you are on the poll can even affect the seed you receive for the NCAA Tournament.
