It’s no secret, the Kansas Jayhawks have one of the best basketball programs in the history of college basketball. They have the second-most wins and the most first-team All-American selections in Division I history. Plus KU basketball has five national championships. In fact, many of the All-Americans and other players that lead the program to such success have continued to succeed in the NBA. Some of the best players in the history of the NBA started in Lawrence, Kansas. Here’s our look at the best Jayhawks to be drafted into the NBA.

Chase Hanna leaves University of Kansas as Big 12 Golf Champion

Chase Hanna is one of the top golfers in the area. Hanna’s resume includes 12 tournament victories while at Shawnee Mission East from 2009-13.

He was the 2013 Kansas City Golf Association Junior Player of the Year.

He set course records at Meadowbrook Golf Club (64), Prairie Village, Kansas; Eagle Bend (64) in Lawrence, Kansas; and Meridian Hills Country Club (63) in Indianapolis.

Hanna went to Kansas and became one of the best golfers in school history, ending his college career by placing first in the Big 12 Championship and named All-Big 12.

MARCH 2017 – The Associated Press just released their All-Time Top 100 poll and, good news for everyone, the Jayhawks, Tigers and Wildcats all cracked into the top half of the list!

Ever since January of 1949, the AP releases their poll of the top teams of the country each week, having different sized polls over the years, from 20 to 10 to the current 25. Being on the poll is a sought-after spot to show the rest of the country you are one of the best in the country and where you are on the poll can even affect the seed you receive for the NCAA Tournament.

Frank Mason III draws comparisons to Collins at KU

FEBRUARY 2015 – Kansas sophomore point guard Frank Mason III calls Sherron Collins one of his all-time favorite Jayhawks.

And why is really not surprising. Not only was Collins one of the greatest point guards in school history who helped lead KU to a national title in 2008, he and Mason have striking comparisons.
